​SPRINGFIELD- A significant step toward supporting Illinois’ disabled veterans was taken on July 1st as legislation was signed into law to alleviate some of the financial burdens placed on the state’s disabled veterans community. This new law, sponsored by State Senator Dan McConchie (R-Hawthorn Woods) and Representative Stephanie A. Kifowit (D-Oswego), waives permit fees for disabled veterans who need to modif​y their homes for accessibility.
